1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hummock ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use Hummock. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to register an account.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of any GPS tracks, photos, and other content you upload to Hummock ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant Hummock a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and (for public trips) share that content as part of the Service, including the community heatmap feature.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the rights of others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Upload false, misleading, or deceptive content

5. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Safety Disclaimer

Hummock is a trip-memory and community tool, not a navigation or safety application. GPS tracks shown in the app may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Always carry appropriate maps, navigation tools, and safety equipment when hiking. Use the Service at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hummock and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including any loss of data or personal injury sustained while following routes discovered via the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
